Nairobi City: Situated along the Nairobi River in the beautiful Kenya, the capital of Nairobi is East Africa's most cosmopolitan city. It serves as an excellent starting point for African safari trips around Kenya. Nairobi is Africa’s 4th largest city and is a vibrant and exciting place to be. There are some fascinating attractions: its cafe culture, unbridled nightlife, the National Museum, the Karen Blixen Museum and most notably, just 20 minutes from the city centre, wild lions and buffalo roam in the world’s only urban game reserve. Make sure you pay a visit to the elephant orphanage operated by the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust!

Arrive and take a Boat trip to Crescent Island – Lake Naivasha is an ideal place for an amazing boat experience, with open waters, fantastic landscape and plenty of attractions to explore. This is an excellent way to see plenty of birdlife and hippos up close! The water is dotted with Pelicans, Kingfishers, Herons, and Jacanas, whereas in the treetops around the lake you will sight Africa’s largest concentration of the African Fish Eagle, with numerous animals. Disembark and go explore the stunning Crescent Island (Walking Safari): Crescent Island is a haven of peace and tranquillity! It is the perfect place to have a nature walk and enjoy breath-taking views of the lake and wildlife. Crescent Island is a famous scene for the “Out of Africa film”, starred by Meryl Streep and Robert Redford. Most scenes were captured on this island. On the island you will be walking among grazers such as giraffes, zebras, and buffalo with sights of numerous birds.
Enjoy a brief picnic on the island (some bites and drinks or coffees). Then get back to the mainland and continue to the lodge.

Planned en-route Excursion: Explore Ol Pajeta Conservancy (Home of the endemic Black Rhino) – Ol Pejeta Ranch’s establishment dates back to the early 1940’s by Lord Delamere; in the British colonial times. Ol Pajeta started as a beef ranch owned and managed by renowned affluents like Adnan Khashoggi (Turkish-Saudi Arabian arms-dealer), and Lonrho Africa. Due to severe poaching until the late 1960’s, by colonial hunters – Elephant and rhino numbers were declining, despite drastically. To control the crisis, one of Ol Pejeta’s former owners (Lonrho Africa), established Sweetwaters Game Reserve in 1988 as a sanctuary for black rhino and other wildlife. Sweetwaters expanded to a 90,000 acre conservation zone – into becoming the present Ol Pajeta Conservancy; operating under Ol Pajeta Ranching Ltd.
Enjoy a Guided Game Drive in the Ol Pajeta Ranch – Highlighted by great views of the snowy peaks of Mt. Kenya, your fully guided safari experience is graced with sights of the endemic black rhino and the remaining “big 4”! The other animals to expect on your safari adventure include: elephants, wild dogs, lions, hyenas, buffalo, cheetah, black and numerous plains herbivores. Do not miss visiting Baraka – One of the first rhinos born on the Ol Pejeta Conservancy: Baraka lost a fight and an eye into permanent blindness, and excluded from the wild to a 100 acre enclosure for safety. You will have lunch and refreshment at the popular Morani’s Restaurant.
After lunch continue to Samburu National Reserve: Arrive and get checked-in at the lodge to refresh for dinner and rest.

Start with a Game Drive in Samburu National Reserve – Samburu was one of the two areas in which conservationists George and Joy Adamson raised Elsa the Lioness: Their story was made famous by the bestselling book and award-winning movie "Born Free”. Elegance is on display with several large game species common to Kenya's northern plains; the gerenuks a unique gazelle with a long neck that stands on its hind legs, the Grevy's Zebras with huge fury ears, Somali ostriches with distinct blue legs and the shy Oryx. Elephant, Leopards, Cheater, lions and crocodile are guaranteed sightings. Samburu is the home to ‘‘Kamunyak’’ – a lioness famous for adopting a baby Oryx.
In the afternoon go for the Samburu cultural experience: Head out for a cultural immersion – an opportunity to explore a unique lifestyle of the Samburu people (pastoralist and warrior tribe of Kenya). Similar to Masai‚ the Samburu are mainly engaged in cattle herding. Their unique tradition of singing while fetching water has come to be known as the Singing Wells; watching this is a highlight of the area.
From the Samburu, enjoy a sundowner at the lodge. Dinner included.

Masai Mara National Reserve – This is one of Kenya’s undisputed natural highlights, which sprawls across more than 1500 square kilometres of the country’s southwest. The park protects a phenomenal array of game, including elephant, lion, leopard and buffalo, as well as crocodile and hippopotamus in the Mara River. The birdlife is impressive, with over 450 resident bird species. However, the true highlight here is the Great Migration, recognised as one of the Seven New Wonders of the World: To survive the dry months of July to September, some 1.7 million wildebeest, migrate into Masai Mara from the parched plains of the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. Along with much smaller numbers of antelope, buffalo and zebra. In their wake come predators such as crocodiles, lion, hyena and cheetah, for whom these giant herds are an easy source of prey.

After breakfast; next is a Game Drive in the “World’s only Urban-based Wilderness” – Situated south of the city is Nairobi National Park, composed of 113 sq. kms of plains, cliffs and forest. The park is home to large herds of zebra, Wildebeest, Buffalo, Giraffe and more. Rhino, Cheetah, and a large number of Lions are all found here, living wild within 20 minutes of the city centre. Enjoy a uniquely magnificent guided game drive in the park’s wide open savannah plains; composed of a backdrop of the city scrapers and scattered acacia trees! Your game experience is spiced-up with sights of various wildlife such as the endangered black rhino, lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, buffaloes, giraffes and diverse birdlife with over 400 species recorded.
From the park proceed to explore more highlights: At 10:30AM visit Daphne Sheldrick Elephant Nursery; learn how orphaned baby elephants and rhinos are bottle-fed and re-introduced back to the wild (Closed at 12:00PM). Continue exploring other sites such as Nairobi National Museum, Karen Blixen Museum (author of ‘‘Out of Africa’’ movie), the Giraffe Centre to hand-feed the Rothschild giraffes (Light lunch included).
After the excursions get to the hotel briefly to refresh, followed by a farewell dinner. Based on flight schedule, be dropped off at the airport to check-in for your flight.
