Gazelle Safaris Africa is a Destination Management Company organizing tours in East and Southern Africa. We curate breathtaking custom and tailor-made safari packages for travelers looking to fill their wanderlust.

Our Story

The Story of Gazelle Safari Company started almost 10 years before the company was opened. Our founder, Ms. Ann knew from a young age that she wanted to work in the travel industry either as a flight attendant or an airline staff. However, along the way, she realized that she was in love with travel planning. Every time she got the opportunity to plan a trip, however short or insignificant, she was elated and would spend long hours meticulously going over every detail. What started as a hobby became a passion and eventually a business. For the last 10 years, Gazelle Safari Company has been crafting bespoke travel experiences for travelers from all walks of life and the one thing they all agree on is attention to detail. Ann’s dream has spread to 10 different countries serving hundreds of tourists every year.

I have traversed the world, and seen many beautiful places, that sometimes leave me speechless, but nothing comes close to Africa my motherland.  Africa is different and unique, and I believe everybody should visit it in their lifetime. For this reason, I founded Gazelle Safari Company to help more people see and enjoy Africa without limitations.

Ann Kalembe

CEO & Founder

Ann founded Gazelle Safaris Africa in August 2011 and officially registered it in July, 2014. Her love story with Tourism began as a university student in Makerere University while pursuing a Bachelor of Tourism degree which she later followed with a foundation Diploma in Travel and Tourism (IATA) and a Master’s Degree in Marketing. Annabel is in charge of the daily running of the company, marketing and product development. All this she does alongside her love for travel.

Brenda Namusuwa

Co-Director

The ever smiling Brenda is one of our Directors and is in charge of quality and compliance. She ensures that all our products and services both outsourced and in-house meet the set quality standards. Her work takes her to lodges, hotels and tourist attraction inspections. She’s an outdoor goddess and has loves adventure.

Laban Kato

Safari Admin

Laban graduated with a First-class Diploma in Travel & Tourism Management. He joined Gazelle Safari Company seeking a change of pace after gaining Tour-Guiding & Wildlife Management experience at Kavumba Wildlife Conservation Centre. He now designs and plans itineraries for our safari department while complementing his excellent tour guiding skills.

Laban’s background in communications influences his approach to tour guiding he knows how to adapt his communication style to accommodate people from all walks of life. Combined with his drive and ambition to succeed, Laban’s future at Gazelle Safari Company looks bright. Outside work, Laban enjoys doing art & design, listening to music & reading the Bible on a daily basis.

Mary Mercy

Sales Representative – North America/USA

Mercy is a dedicated Sales Executive representing Gazelle Safari Company in North America, currently based in Chicago. With a background in Microfinance and a strong foundation in travel and hospitality, previously serving as our Reservations Officer before she relocated to the USA.

Mercy thrives on meeting new people and is passionate about helping clients turn their dream African adventures into reality. When she’s not working, you’ll likely find her exploring new places, dancing, or spending quality time with friends.

Martin Mugambi

Digital Content Manager

Martin is a multimedia journalist with a Diploma in Journalism and Mass communications. He joined Gazelle in 2022 and currently works as a Digital content manager and takes pride in creating interactive and educative content about Africa’s travel scene via the company’s digital media platforms. Outside the office, he works as a sports journalist on the radio and also works as a part-time photographer. His love for sports always leads him to stadiums to either watch games or play soccer during his leisure time.

Solome Monica

Travel Consultant

Solome holds a Bachelor of Tourism and Travel Management from Makerere University Business School. Her education experience further expands to pursuing a Foundation in Travel and Tourism (IATA) plus a Certificate in Galileo and Amadeus. As a junior Travel Consultant at Gazelle Safari Company, she is in-charge of airline reservations and ticketing. Working towards being efficient and making all customers feel first-class is what she strives for in her daily tasks. As a lover of literature, Solome enjoys reading in her free time and listening to music.

Maria Concepta

Accountant

Maria is a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Finance at Makerere University Business School and currently studying to become a Certified Public Accountant. Driven by her love of numbers, she has 5 years of work experience in the accounting field. As an accountant at Gazelle, she is in charge of filing tax returns and general bookkeeping. Away from her desk, she loves to relax and take leisure walks by the beach in the company of friends and family.

Geoffrey Pao

Content Manager

Geoffrey earned his degree in Telecommunications Engineering from Makerere University. With over eight years of experience in web development, he plays a key role in maintaining and enhancing Gazelle Safari Company’s online presence. Geoffrey is detail-oriented and committed to delivering user-friendly, responsive web applications. Outside work, he loves traveling to new places and exploring life’s diverse aspects. In his free time, you’ll often find him watching tech videos and staying updated with the latest industry trends.

Pascal Mweu Charles

Representative, Kenya

Pascal serves as our Representative in Kenya, overseeing operations and ground handling for clients traveling through the country. With over 20 years of experience in the tourism industry.

A graduate of tourism from Utalii College, Pascal has spent his career ensuring smooth and memorable travel experiences for guests from all over the world. His passion lies in traveling, discovering new tour routes, exploring unique accommodations, and learning more about wildlife. When he’s not out in the field, Pascal enjoys working on itineraries and tending to personal projects.

Ismail Sembatya Kiganda

Travel Guide

Ismail studied Mechanical Engineering in Kisubi technical institute and works at Gazelle Safari Company as a Safari Guide. With commendable experience of 15 years in the hospitality industry, Ismail’s enthusiasm for giving tourists unforgettable tour experiences only continues to grow. Away from his work station, Ismail dedicates his time to farming, especially in Coffee and Maize growing in his leisure time.

Lydia Nabaale

Sales Representative – GCC Region

Lydia Nabaale is the Sales Representative for the GCC region at Gazelle Safari Company, now based in Dubai. Her role covers the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Oman, where she promotes Authentic African safari experiences to travelers across the Gulf.

Before relocating, Lydia served as Gazelle’s Air Ticketing Officer and also managed reservations for our accommodation partners in Uganda. With a strong background in client service and travel coordination, she brings both experience and passion to her current role.

Herbert Mugarura

Safari Guide

Born and raised in Rukungiri Western Uganda, Herbert began his journey in tourism after completing a degree in Community Based Development at Ndejje University. Instead of pursuing a traditional path, Herbert followed his passion for travel and nature—starting out as a lodge driver guide and receptionist in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, where he led village tours, birding, and nature walks.

Herbert enjoys time with his wife and two children, and finds joy in sharing Uganda’s rich heritage with every guest he meets.
