“Entebbe” is loosely translated as seat used to be the place where Buganda kingdom chiefs executed legal cases. Entebbe was also a British colonial administrative and commercial centre in 1893. It is home to the only international airport of Uganda which was established in 1929.
With this private guided tour, you will sail and visit Mabamba Swamp in Lake Victoria only to sight the elusive shoebill stork as well as other birds, endemic to this swamp at your own pace. Sail back to the mainland and visit the reptile village together with the National Botanical Gardens.

Best in the early morning, you will meet your guide at a preferred pick/drop-off location and transfer to Nakiwogo Landing Site. From here embark onto a boat to Mabamba Swamp.
MABAMBA SWAMP; This is the best place to sight the Shoebill stork.
The wetland accessed by a canoe ride is located on North West of the Entebbe Peninsular, along the edge of Lake Victoria, the wetland is a sanctuary for over 260 bird species. Mabamba Swamp; a Ramsar Site, got its name from the local fishermen due to a huge quantity of lungfish “Mamba”, most sought after fish by fishermen as well as a favourite food for the shoebill.

A Community-Based Organisation established in 2003 to teach the community about the relative importance of reptiles to the eco system and to encourage their conservation. It is home to 20 reptile species and over 50 reptiles including Black mamba, Jameson’s mamba, Rock Pythons, Vipers, Egyptian & Forest Cobras, Puff adders, Tortoises, Monitor lizards, Crocodiles together with Chameleons and many more. Proceeds from your visit help maintain the reptile village.
Get here and learn more about the reptiles with an opportunity to hold a tortoise or a rock python, if you have the nerves to do so. Take pictures of the animals and interact with the people here.

THE NATIONAL BOTANICAL GARDENS: This eco-zone was established in 1898 on the northern shores of Lake Victoria and it protects a variety of tree species which have been in existence for hundreds of years.
This place is a collection of species of plants of the tropical, sub-tropical and temperate zones, besides several shrubs and other plants which have regenerated naturally over the years, with over 309 species, 199 indigenous to Uganda, 122 with known medicinal value and 110 exotics. Relax and unwind.
