Located Just 4km From Kigali International Airport, The Site Is Now A National Museum Attracting An Average Of 400 Tourists Per Day, Driven By Curiosity To Witness The Very House Where The Inner Circle (Akazu) Gathered To Structure The Massive Genocide.
Continue To Nyamata Genocide Memorial Centre (Nyamata Twin Churches): Just 30 Km Outside Kigali. Many Tutsis Gathered Here As Churches Were Known To Be Safe For Refuge & About 10,000 People Sought Refuge In The Church. The Church Walls Today Portray The Actual Events Of How The Militias Put Holes Into The Walls Just To Throw Grenades Inside, To Create A Way Through & The People Inside Were Shot/Killed With Machetes Upon Entering. The Clothing & Identity Cards Of The Deceased Are Still On Display. People In The Neighbourhood Were Later Killed After The Terrible Church Massacre & Their Remains (50,000 People) Are Buried Here.
