This 6-day Ugandan primate and nature adventure takes you through some of the country’s most remarkable forests and landscapes. The journey begins with a scenic drive from Kampala or Entebbe to Kibale Forest, introducing you to rich cultural experiences and rainforest biodiversity. Highlights include an unforgettable chimpanzee-tracking expedition in Kibale, followed by a picturesque transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for a once-in-a-lifetime gorilla trek. The adventure continues with a golden monkey trek in Mgahinga National Park and a scenic canoe safari on the serene waters of Lake Mutanda, set against dramatic volcanic backdrops. The trip concludes with a return to Entebbe, including a stop at the Equator.

Entebbe/Kampala – Kibale Forest – Bwindi Impenetrable Forest – Mgahinga Gorilla N.P via Lake Mutanda

Your pickup location is flexible — from your hotel in Kampala, Entebbe Town, or Entebbe Airport (we recommend early arrival). After a brief orientation with your safari guide, depart for Kibale Forest, with a lunch stop at a restaurant en route.

Upon arrival in Kibale, indulge in the Bigodi Cultural Experience—a vibrant encounter that includes a traditional coffee tour, sampling banana beer and local vodka, discovering unique arts and crafts, enjoying cultural songs and dances, and learning about the medicinal value of indigenous herbs (Activity subject to change).

Thereafter, continue to your lodge for check-in, where you can unwind and refresh before savouring dinner and settling in for an overnight stay.

Pickup Time: 07:00am. After an early breakfast at the lodge, proceed to the park for a briefing before embarking on your chimpanzee trek.

Planned Activities: Chimpanzee Tracking Experience – Following an early-morning briefing at 8:00AM, set out at 8:30AM for an exhilarating trek through the lush Kibale rainforest. Traverse winding trails as you track chimpanzees in their natural habitat, observing them swing gracefully through the canopy, forage for food, and interact within their lively family groups. The forest itself is alive with wonder — from the songs of exotic birds to fleeting glimpses of other elusive wildlife — each step revealing a new surprise. Guided by an expert ranger, you will gain fascinating insights into chimpanzee behaviour, the delicate forest ecosystem, and ongoing conservation efforts. Be sure to carry essentials such as sturdy hiking boots, long trousers, a face mask, insect repellent, gloves, and drinking water to ensure a comfortable and memorable adventure.

After the wildlife encounter, return to the lodge to unwind and enjoy a well-deserved lunch, with the rest of the day free for relaxation at your own pace.

Pick up at 08:00AM., following an early breakfast and check-out from the lodge. Depart Kibale for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, with lunch arranged en route at a local restaurant. Arrive in Bwindi by late afternoon for lodge check-in, refresh and unwind.

Pickup Time: 06:30 AM. Early breakfast, then be handed a lunchbox with mineral water to put in your backpack, and head to the park | Dinner is arranged at your lodge.

The day’s main activity: Bwindi Gorilla Tracking Experience – After completing park formalities, set off on a once-in-a-lifetime adventure to track the endangered mountain gorillas. Trek through dense jungle, climb rugged terrain, and follow fresh trails until you come face to face with a gorilla family — including the mighty silverback. You’ll spend 1–2 unforgettable hours observing and photographing these gentle giants in their natural habitat. Along the way, your ranger guide will choose a safe spot for a picnic lunch before you continue the trek or return to the lodge (subject to change). Be prepared for the wild with sturdy hiking boots, long trousers, gloves, long-sleeved clothing, a face mask, insect repellent, and plenty of water. Optional activity (USD 30 pp): Enrich your adventure with the Batwa Cultural Trail, where you will experience the traditions and stories of the Batwa.

Pickup Time: 05:30 am. Enjoy an early breakfast and check out, then depart to Mgahinga National Park for the Golden Monkey trek, before continuing to Lake Mutanda.

Planned Activities: Mgahinga Golden Monkey Trek – Begin your day with a briefing before setting off at 08:00 AM for an unforgettable trek through the misty rainforest of Mgahinga. Traverse winding trails and dense bamboo thickets as you track the vibrant Golden Monkeys in their natural habitat. Spend 1–2 magical hours watching them leap, forage, and play, capturing every moment with your camera. Equip yourself with sturdy hiking shoes, long sleeves, trousers, and a backpack with an insect repellent, water, and a face mask.

Next is Lake Mutanda canoe safari—Enjoy a leisurely one-hour paddle from Cheba’s Point, gliding across calm waters dotted with islands and shimmering shores. Along the way, spot birdlife and playful otters, take in sweeping views of the Virunga volcanoes, and gain local insights from your guide.

Afterwards, reconnect with your guide and proceed to Chameleon Hill for lunch. Later, you will be dropped off at your hotel to freshen up before dinner.

Pickup Time: No later than 06:00 am. After an early breakfast, check out and depart for Entebbe International Airport. The journey includes a stop at the Equator for lunch, photo opportunities, and engaging demonstrations. Arrival at the airport will be in good time for check-in ahead of your onward flight.

Recommended: Evening departures from 20:00hrs onwards for a smooth transfer.
