The trek duration varies based on gorilla location and terrain. Once found, spend 1 to 2 hours observing and photographing the gorillas, including the silverback, while following safety guidelines. The cruise also offers excellent wildlife viewing, with frequent sightings of hippos, buffaloes, warthogs, crocodiles, waterbucks, and other animals gathering at the water’s edge to drink and cool off. Recommended items include hiking shoes, face mask, gaiters, insect repellent, rain jacket, long-sleeved shirt, long trousers, and binoculars.
