Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our guide, who will assist with your luggage and transfer you to your hotel in Entebbe. Check-in and relax at your leisure to unwind and prepare for your upcoming adventure.

Pick-up Time: 07:00AM. Savor breakfast at the hotel before setting off for Kasese, stopping at the Equator for memorable photos and enjoying lunch at Igongo Cultural Center in Mbarara. Continue your journey to Kasese and check in at your lodge to refresh for dinner and unwind in preparation for the upcoming Rwenzori Mountain trek.

After an early breakfast, transfer to Trekkers’ Hostel in Kyanjuki, Kilembe Mines, near Kasese. Begin the trek between 09:00AM and 11:00AM, walking 2.2 km to the UWA ranger post at 1,727 meters, which takes approximately one hour.

Begin your trek along the valley floor through towering Afro-Montane forests, arriving at Sine Camp (2,596m) for an overnight stay near the stunning Enoch Falls. For the more adventurous, a side hike to Kalama Camp (3,134m) and the Mutinda Lookout (3,975m) offers breathtaking panoramic views.

Enjoy a hearty breakfast before embarking at 8:30AM on an exhilarating trek through the Bamboo-Mimulopsis Zone, tackling steep climbs and high steps amid the lush, towering vegetation. Trek past Kamalama Camp (3,147m) through the Heather-Rapanea Zone to Mutinda Camp, crossing streams, ridge tops, and moss-covered waterfalls. In the afternoon, an optional climb to Mutinda Lookout (3,925m) rewards you with breathtaking panoramic views of the Rwenzori Mountains, Kasese town, and Lake George.

The trail becomes boggy, especially in the wet season, but with careful footing you can leap from tussock to tussock, adding a playful challenge to your ascent.

Take cross boardwalks over bogs and trek through tussock grass, giant lobelias, and vibrant flowers in Mutinda Valley. Ascend steeply to Namusangi Valley (3,840m) with waterfalls and Mutinda Peaks views, before reaching Bugata Camp (4,062m) atop Bamwanjara Pass. Take in panoramic vistas of Bugata Lake, Lake Kopello, Weismann’s Peak, Lake Africa, and Lake Tanganyika amid the rugged alpine beauty.

Embark on an exhilarating trek to Hunwick’s Camp via Bamwanjara Pass. Departing Bugata Camp, ascend a ridge before dropping slightly and climbing to Bamwanjara Pass (4,450 m), where a hut offers shelter in adverse weather. Traverse valleys, edge past bogs, and pass through lush evergreens, groundsel, and towering giant lobelias. Continue along steep sections to Hunwick’s Camp, rewarded with breathtaking views of Mount Stanley, Mount Baker, Weismann’s Peak, and McConnell’s Prong.

From Hunwick’s Camp, descend and traverse the valley floor to the breathtaking Lake Kitandara, renowned for its deep waters and lush, vibrant vegetation. From Lake Kitandara, ascend the rugged Scott Elliott’s Pass and follow the ridge to Margherita Camp (4,485 m), nestled among massive rocks that provide shelter from the biting winds. This historic site is where the Duke of Abruzzi camped during his legendary 1906 ascent of Margherita Peak, adding a touch of mountaineering heritage to your epic climb.

Rise at 02:00AM for an early breakfast before embarking on the thrilling ascent of Mount Stanley at 02:30AM. An early start is essential, as the mountain is often shrouded in thick clouds later in the day, making the summit challenging. Climbers must adhere to a strict 10:00AM turnaround time for safety. After conquering Margherita Peak (5,109 m), descend directly to Hunwick’s Camp (3,874 m) to rest following this epic high-altitude adventure.

From Hunwick’s Camp, climb toward McConnell’s Prong for sweeping views of all three Rwenzori peaks and Scott Elliott’s Pass. Continue past Oliver’s Pass (4,505m), traversing below Weismann’s Peak with stunning vistas of Margherita, Stanley, Speke, and Baker on a clear day. The trail then descends along the Nyamwamba River valley, winding through dramatic landscapes before reaching Kiharo Camp for the night.

Today, you will begin your descent from Kiharo Camp to the park exit, a rewarding 5-to-8-hour trek. The trail winds gently downhill through the breathtaking Nyamwamba Valley, offering spectacular views at every turn. Along the way, you’ll encounter moss-draped rocks, cascading waterfalls, and lush, pristine forests—some of the most remarkable in the Rwenzori Mountains. Enjoy a farewell lunch at the charming Riverside Rock Shelter.

Upon reaching Trekker’s Hostel, you will be reunited with your driver-guide and transferred to your lodge, where you can check in and spend a relaxing evening at leisure, reflecting on the unforgettable beauty of your journey.

Pick-up Time: 06:30AM. Enjoy an early breakfast before setting out to explore the iconic highlights of the park. Relish a delightful lunch at Mweya Safari Lodge, surrounded by spectacular scenery. You will return to your lodge later for dinner and a relaxing overnight.

Planned Activities: Morning Game Drive: Begin the day with an exciting wildlife safari, spotting the park’s iconic animals in their natural habitat. Lake Katwe Salt Works: Discover and explore the unique salt production at Lake Katwe, a fascinating glimpse into local traditions and culture. Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise: In the afternoon, enjoy a serene boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, where you can observe hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of birdlife up close. Optional Evening Game Drive: After the boat trip, you may embark on an evening game drive for a chance to witness the park’s wildlife in the magical twilight.

Arrive in Bwindi in the late afternoon and check in at your lodge, where you can relax and enjoy dinner, ready to rest for the adventures that await in the coming days.

Pickup Time: 06:30AM. After an early breakfast, receive a packed lunch and bottled water to carry in your backpack before proceeding to the park office.

Planned Activities: Bwindi Gorilla Tracking Experience – Venture deep into the heart of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest for an unforgettable encounter with the endangered mountain gorillas. Accompanied by an experienced ranger and skilled trackers, you will navigate lush, mist-shrouded trails, surrounded by the sounds and scents of the jungle, as anticipation builds with every step. Upon finding the gorillas, spend 1 to 2 magical hours observing and photographing these majestic creatures in their natural habitat. This is more than a trek—it is an intimate, once-in-a-lifetime adventure into one of the world’s most extraordinary ecosystems! During the trek, your guide will select a serene spot for a picnic lunch before you continue or return to the lodge (subject to change). For your comfort and safety, wear sturdy hiking shoes, long trousers, long-sleeved shirts, gloves, a face mask, carry insect repellent and drinking water. Pickup Time: 07:00AM. After a hearty breakfast and check-out and begin your journey from Bwindi to Lake Mburo National Park. Upon arrival, enjoy lunch at the lodge with a relaxed afternoon, and a later evening walking safari.   

Evening Activity: Lake Mburo Walking Safari – Set out on a thrilling evening walking safari of up to three hours, guided by an expert ranger. Trek from Rwonyo to the saltlicks, where herds of zebras, impalas, and other grazers gather to lick the mineral-rich clay. Feel the adrenaline and wonder as you move quietly through the park, observing wildlife up close, surrounded by the golden glow of the setting sun and the wild sounds of Lake Mburo’s untamed landscapes. After the safari, proceed to the lodge and check-in for dinner.
