Overview

Visitors can explore the capital of Windhoek and discover the lovely coastal town of Swakopmund boasting remnants of the country’s German influence. To properly appreciate Namibia, you will have to venture out of the cities to explore the remarkable natural like: the impressive Fish River Canyon; the vast Etosha National Park teeming with abundant wildlife, such as lions, desert-adapted elephants and the Hartmann's Mountain Zebra; the hauntingly beautiful Kalahari Desert; and of course the Namib Desert stretching for over 2000 km along the magnificent Atlantic Coast.

Upon arriving at Hosea Kutako International Airport, you will be received by our driver guide with a welcome sign with your name on it. Have a briefing for the trip, and thereafter transfer to the hotel within the city. Arrive and check-in to stay at leisure.

Overnight: Urban Camp – Windhoek

With breakfast at Urban Cam, this day will be fully spent at leisure.  An optional city tour at 15H30 can be offered on request for an extra cost.

Explore Windhoek on a city tour (optional): This is Namibia’s capital, home to an international airport and a plethora of restaurants, shops, entertainment venues and accommodation options. The city is clean, safe and well-organised, with a colonial legacy that is reflected in its many German eateries and shops, and the widespread use of the German language. Windhoek has an interesting mix of historical architecture and modern buildings, many of which are worth a look, including the Alte Feste (Old Fort), the 1896 Christuskirche (Christ Church), and the more contemporary Supreme Court. The city tour will lead you to iconic landmarks and local markets. Best way to meet the locals.

Dinner at own cost - we recommend Joe’s Beer House or Leo’s Garden Restaurant.

Overnight: Urban Camp – Windhoek
Meal Plan: Bed and Breakfast

Have an early breakfast at the camp and check-out. Thereafter, depart Windhoek to Sossusvlei. Arrive and get to your accommodation with the rest of the day at leisure after check-in. You may have an optional scenic sundowner for an extra cost.

Overnight: Desert Camp Sossusvlei

Meal Plan: Breakfast and Dinner

Have breakfast at the camp and go out to explore the magical Sossusvlei with the surrounding iconic wonders. Sossusvlei is where you will find the iconic red sand dunes of the Namib Desert. The clear blue skies contrast with the giant red sand dunes to make this one of the natural wonders of Africa and a photographer’s paradise. Aside from the attractions at Sossusvlei - Dune 45, Hiddenvlei, Big Daddy and Deadvlei – other attractions in the area include the Sesriem Canyon and Namib-Naukluft N. Park, where the mountains of the Namib meet the plains.

Return to the camp towards the evening and you will spend it at leisure.

Overnight: Desert Camp Sossusvlei

Founded in 1892 as the main harbour for German South West Africa, Swakopmund is often described as being more German than Germany. Now a seaside resort, Swakopmund is the capital of the Skeleton Coast tourism area and has plenty to keep visitors happy. The quirky mix of German and Namibian influences, colonial-era buildings and the cool sea breeze make it very popular.

After breakfast and check-out; depart to Swakopmund. En-route, make a stopover at Solitaire for the best Apple pie in Africa; do not miss the photographic opportunity at the Tropic of Capricorn sign. Still en-route, in Walvis Bay visit the Lagoon before proceeding to your Guesthouse. In the evening you will explore the beach on foot. Dinner at own cost – we recommend The Tug Restaurant.

Overnight: Royal Sea Star Guesthouse

Meal Plan: Bed and Breakfast

Starting with breakfast at the hotel, depart to Walvis Bay at 08h00 for the full day – Marine Desert Adventure (Boat cruise) This is followed by a Sandwich Harbour Tour at which you will sample champagne, soft drinks, cold beers, fresh Oysters and finger foods as included. Dinner at own cost – we recommend Tiger Reef Bar & Grill.

Overnight: Royal Sea Star Guesthouse

Meal Plan: Bed and Breakfast

Departing from Swakopmund, head to Damaraland. Make a stopover en-route to visit Twyfelfontein; a UNESCO heritage site, and the Burnt Mountain, together with the Organ Pipes. Thereafter, continue with the rest of the journey to lodge with the rest of the day at leisure. Dinner served at the lodge after refreshing up.

Overnight: Lodge Damaraland

Meal Plan: Dinner and Breakfast

After breakfast and checking out, depart to Etosha. Optional activity: En-route stopover at Himba village for a cultural experience; meeting and interacting with the locals. From Himba, continue to the lodge in Etosha and check in with the evening spent at leisure.

Overnight: Toshari Lodge (Etosha Gateway)

Meal Plan: Dinner and Breakfast

At 07H00 depart for a full day guided game drive in Etosha National Park; spend the day adventuring through the varied wildlife and other nature wonders of the park. Etosha National Park can be accessed via the southern entrance at Andersson’s Gate. Visitors can catch a glimpse of a variety of wildlife including: lion, giraffe, elephant, white and black rhino, and a multitude of plains game. Popular activities include: enjoying an open 4x4 safari with an expert guide, half day or full day. You may have a picnic within the park during the safari – at own cost.

Returning to the lodge will be towards the evening. Dinner included.

Overnight: Toshari Lodge (Etosha Gateway)

Today take it slow and sleep-in a bit; wake up to a delicious breakfast at the lodge. Thereafter, check-out and set off back to Windhoek. En-route, stopover at Okahandja wood carving Market to admire the traditional arts and shop for a few souvenirs for a souvenirs. Arrive in Windhoek to your prebooked accommodation; check-in with the rest of the evening at leisure. Dinner at the guesthouse – own cost.  

Overnight: Little Forest Garden Retreat

Day 11 :
Departure

Breakfast at the guesthouse and check-out – depends on your flight schedule. You will then have a tour debriefing by our safari guide. At your preferred time, transfer to Hosea Kutako Int. Airport to check-in for your onward flight out of Namibia.
