Not your ordinary waterfall, Sezibwa is steeped in legend! It is said that a woman expecting twins instead gave birth to two rivers, Sezibwa and Bwanda, which flow below the falls. Explore to Mabira Forest, once known as Uganda’s “Amazon,” covering 300 sq.km between Lugazi and Jinja and protected as a forest reserve since 1932. Despite past logging, Mabira remains rich in biodiversity, with over 300 tree and bird species and playful monkeys along the way. Enjoy a 2–3 hour guided nature walk, discovering primates, unique trees, and the forest’s diverse birdlife while learning about their ecological importance.
