8 Days Gorillas, Wildlife & Fishing Safari

Journey Time: 4 – 5 Hours

Today you will have a detailed city tour of Kigali through historical landmarks with a visit to: Kigali Genocide Memorial Site, which offered a place in which the bereaved could bury their families & friends, now over 250,000 victims are buried at the site. This site also includes three permanent exhibitions, the largest of which documents the genocide of April 1994. There is also a children's memorial, and an exhibition on the history of genocidal violence around the world.
After this memorable excursion, travel towards the border and crossover to Uganda with lunch En-route. Arrival in Bwindi is foreseen later in the evening with the rest of your time at leisure.

After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters in time for the 08:00am briefing. Gorilla tracking commences 30 minutes after registration and briefing by the ranger guides.

Gorilla tracking is a very captivating and unforgettable experience which more than repays the effort needed to reach Bwindi. It can last a few hours to a whole day depending on where the gorillas were left previously. After tracking, return to the lodge for lunch with optional activities thereafter.
Planned Activity: Guided Village Walk + Batwa cultural trail
This walk provides guests with an opportunity to support the local community whilst enjoying their visits to various interesting places following a walking trail through the village. Highlights include the Batwa traditional healer, banana brewery and a community school.

After an early breakfast, leave Kisoro earlier for Lake Mburo National Park amid scenic views. Upon arrival, enjoy an early lunch. Thereafter go Sport fishing on Lake Mburo; taking you close to the rich flora and fauna of the park. And along the shores, you will spot a variety of animals coming to water and cool off, in the due course of your fishing safari.
Time permitting: go for an evening walking safari with a visit to the salt licks. Watch animals licking natural salt to supplement from a gazetted viewing platform.

Journey Time: 4 – 5 Hours

Lake Mburo is one of the best locations in Uganda for sport fishing. It consists of 6 distinct fish species that are all thriving including tilapia. Sport fishing adventures in Lake Mburo takes place at Mazinga, come with your own gear alongside a fishing permit.

Return to the lodge and have lunch after fishing. In the afternoon travel to Kampala City.
Make a stopover at the Equator for a photo opportunity and demonstrations. Thereafter continue to the city, arriving at the hotel. Check-in and stay at leisure throughout the evening.

Early breakfast and at 8:30AM join your guide and commence with a tour of Kampala City.

Visit historical landmarks such as; Buganda Palace, Baha’i Temple, Uganda Museum with monuments including the Independence Monument, to local markets, and a mosque.
After this excursion, return to the hotel for leisure at your own pace.

Journey Time: 45Min – 1 Hour

Another early breakfast and transfer to Entebbe for fishing. Spend the whole day sport fishing on the second largest fresh water lake in the world.
Lake Victoria is the right spot for hooking fresh water fish; the Nile Perch through “catch and release” in company of specialized English-speaking fishing guides.

The activity is available all year round but it is advisable to avoid full moon as well as April and May – rainy season. The main type of fish here is the Nile Perch (ranging from approximately 8-80 kg) and trolling with lures is the preferred method. Included on a speedboat trip: Hot and cold beverages on board and packed lunch.
Head to the hotel later in the evening with the rest of time at leisure.

Have breakfast at the hotel. Depending on your departure flight schedule, transfer to the airport to check-in for your onward departure on time.
For late flights; a day room will be offered at client’s own cost.

You may still use this time to explore the highlights of Entebbe such as Botanical Gardens, Reptile Village, or a boat ride to Mabamba Swamp for the shoebill stork. All these activities are optional.
