5 Days Rwanda Gorillas & Golden Monkeys Safari

Journey Time: 2 Hours
At 8:00AM after a sumptuous breakfast, you will go for a city tour of Kigali starting with a drive around the historical landmarks.
Thereafter, visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial Site, which offered a place in which the bereaved could bury their families & friends, now over 250,000 victims are buried at the site. This site also includes three permanent exhibitions, the largest of which documents the genocide of April 1994. There is also a children's memorial, and an exhibition on the history of genocidal violence around the world.
Have lunch & later drive North of Kigali to Parc National des Volcans for overnight.

Journey Time: 20Min
After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for briefing. Begin gorilla tracking activity & when the gorillas are located, you will have 1 hour to spend with them. Tracking the great apes through the light mountain forest on the slopes of the Virungas is a magical experience.
After the exercise, return to the lodge for lunch & in the afternoon, either choose to explore the area with your private guide & vehicle, perhaps visiting nearby lakes & villages; go for a walk on your own in the farmland around the hotel; or just relax & enjoy the scenery, dinner with an overnight at the lodge.

Have an early breakfast & then transfer to the park headquarter for golden monkey trekking. The golden monkeys are little known & endangered species. They react & interact differently & will keep on playing hide-and-seek much to the delight of the visitor.

Return to the lodge for lunch.

Afternoon activity: Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village

Visit the Gorilla Guardian’s village popularly known by its former name Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village. All proceeds from your visit go to the local communities to buy seeds for farmers & scholastic materials for children.

• Consultation with a traditional healer


• Shooting a bow & arrow with local Batwa Pygmies


• Making Banana beer


• Grinding millet & Sorghum

Later drive to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

After an early breakfast, you will embark on your journey to Kigali. Depending on the time of your flight, you may visit the Inema art studio one of the biggest art galleries in East Africa and later head to KAPLAKI a craft market for souvenir shopping.
Transfer International Airport in time, so as to check in for your home departure flight.
