As the day draws to a close, return to your hotel to relax and recuperate.

After breakfast, join your guide for a visit to Kolmanskop, the fascinating ghost town once at the heart of Namibia’s diamond rush. Explore its abandoned homes, still partially filled with drifting desert sand, and hear stories of its rise and decline in the early 20th century. Following your tour, continue your journey towards the striking landscapes of Sossusvlei, renowned for its towering red dunes and stark desert beauty.

Upon arrival at your lodge, you may choose to enhance your evening with an optional scenic sundowner drive (at N$ 380 pp.), offering breathtaking views as the sun sets over the Namib Desert – The remainder of the evening is at leisure to relax.

Early breakfast at your lodge and depart around 07h00 with your guide for a full-day exploration of the region’s most iconic landmarks. Your first stop is Sossusvlei, home to the towering Dune 45, one of the most photographed dunes in the world. Climb to its crest for breathtaking views over the Namib Desert’s sweeping sands. Continue to the ethereal white clay pan of Deadvlei, where centuries-old, sun-bleached camelthorn trees stand in stark contrast against the vivid red dunes and cobalt-blue sky — a scene unlike anywhere else on earth. Conclude your excursion with a visit to Sesriem Canyon, a dramatic natural gorge carved by the Tsauchab River, revealing layers of ancient geological history.

For an optional sunrise experience, consider a hot air balloon ride over the desert. Drift silently above the stunning landscape, taking in panoramic views of the dunes and valleys below. Continue your journey to Otjiwa Lodge, where you will check in and settle into your accommodations. Later in the afternoon, embark on the lodge’s included sundowner game drive, an opportunity to observe native wildlife in their natural habitat while enjoying the spectacular colors of the setting sun over the African landscape.
