Overview

Fly domestic from Entebbe with comfortable transfers to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park through scenic remote villages and get a feel of the typical Ugandan rural lifestyle. Go Gorilla tracking at Bwindi – which can be spiced up with a community visit and get close to the locals. Drive further to Lake Bunyonyi for an iconic canoe ride across 29 islands with a hike to Bunyonyi’s scenic Top of the World.

Journey Time: Less 30 Minutes

On arrival at Entebbe International Airport – Meet our safari guide at the waiting area, he will offer luggage assistance with a transfer to the hotel. Upon check-in spend the rest of the day at leisure or opt for Entebbe Eco Tour (based on arrival time).

Flight Duration: Approx. 2 Hours      

Pickup Time: 06:00AM. Early breakfast at the hotel and check-out. Thereafter, be dropped off at the airport for your flight to Bwindi. (Domestic flight check-in opens at 06:00am). Upon landing at the Airstrip, be received by our safari guide and transfer to the lodge close. Arrive and check-in to enjoy your lunch with the rest of this day at leisure. Optional Activity at 30$ p/person: Batwa Cultural Trail.

Journey Time: Approx. 2 Hours   

Pickup Time: 06:30AM. After an early breakfast you will be handed a lunchbox and mineral water to put in your backpack and proceed to the park.Bwindi Gorilla Tracking Experience – Upon completing your park formalities, embark onto a once in a life time experience of tracking the endangered mountain gorillas. Once you meet the gorillas on a tracking adventure, you will be allowed between 1 to 2 hours watching and photographing the gentle apes including the silverback. This is perhaps one of the most breath-taking wildlife experience on earth!!!  On close encounter, you will stare at each other blankly not knowing who to break the long silence first. These massive primates are extremely rare, with less than 700 living today, but you will get within meters for stunning photography, but considering all the necessary safety measures. Gorilla tracking may be fairly strenuous lasting approximately an hour at a relatively high altitude. During the trek, your ranger guide will identify a safe spot for your picnic lunch after which you will proceed with the trek or back to the lodge (Subject to change). Wear hiking shoes, face mask, trousers, hand gloves, long-sleeves, insect repellent with water.

After gorilla tracking, depart Bwindi to the Magical Lake Bunyonyi. Arrive and check-in at the lodge to stay at leisure for personal engagements. Dinner included.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner at the lodge. Enjoy the day’s planned activities and sample a few available optional activities for a great experience. Lake Bunyonyi is safe to explore like a local due to the hospitable nature of the local residents.

Planned Activities: Lake Bunyonyi Canoe Ride at Sunrise – Explore the stunning Islands of Bunyonyi aboard a traditional Dugout Canoe, through the lake’s 29 Islands. Canoeing is a traditional means of transport on Lake Bunyonyi used by locals for generations. Experience the lake like locals for an insight into the area’s history and culture. Visit historical Islands; Akampene, Bwama and Njuyeera alongside local villages. Bunyonyi Top of the World Hike/Nature Walk – Getting to Bunyonyi’s Top of the World, you are rewarded with spectacular views of all the lake’s 29 Islands (stunning views at sunset!) On the same walk explore the areas local lifestyle; walk through villages and interact with the residents. The lake is home to over 200 species of birds, such as the African fish eagle and the grey crowned crane and more.

Suggested Optional Activities: Guided Cable Crossing (at 15$ pp.) | Zip-line Cable Crossing and High Ropes Course (at 25$ pp.) | Bunyonyi Bike tour (at 30$ pp./2 hours).

Returning to the lodge will be for dinner and relaxation.

Pickup Time: 06:00AM. Early breakfast and checkout, with a transfer back to the airstrip. Arrive and check-in for your flight back to Entebbe. If you arrive earlier than your onward flight; a dayroom, lunch and transfers will be offered at a cost. Alternatively, you may opt for a Shoebill tour at Mabamba Swamp.
